Badnawar : All India Shwetambar Sthanakvasi Jain conference under guidance of national forerunner Ashok Mohanti handed over a memorandum to SDM Ekta Jaiswal regarding shutting of slaughter houses during Paryushan.

Paryushan is the festival of forgiveness for the Jain community. The duration of Paryusana is for eight or ten days and comes at the time when the wandering monks take up temporary residence for the monsoon period or “ch?turm?sa” “four-month”.

The memorandum mentions an apex court verdict no.16844/2005 dated 30.08.05 to keep butchery closed during the celebration of this Jain ritual.

The Paryushan will be celebrated from August 22 to 30. Dharmaradhana, Taparadhana and various more programmes will take place. Narendra Sundecha, Ramesh Sanghavi and Arun Sundecha were present there.
