IPL bookie held with Rs 1.15L

BHOPAL : Acting on a tip off, the Kotwali police, on Thursday night, arrested a bookie from Marwari Road. The bookie was said to be involved in betting for a long time and the police recovered one betting slip, around Rs 1.15 lakh in cash and two mobile phone sets from him. The operation was conducted between 9.30 to 11.30 pm on Thursday.

According to Kotwali police, they were getting regular tip offs from their sources regarding illegal betting racket being run from a flat in Taparia Complex located at Marwari Road. Following the information, the cops laid a siege and arrested Manoj Agrawal, 50, son of BD Agrawal from a flat in the complex. The police recovered one Satta slip, Rs 1.15 lakh in cash and two mobile phone sets from his possession. Agrawal was said to be involved in betting on the ongoing Indian Premier League matches also.
