BHOPAL: Koh-e-Fiza police have arrested two persons in connection with betting on IPL matches from a rented house late on Monday night.Besides their arrest, the police have also recovered betting slips to the tune of Rs 2.5 lakhs, cash amount of Rs 18,000, TV, laptop, set-top box, 14 mobiles, a recorder device, 10 chargers, 2 remotes and a calculator from their possession.

TI, Koh-e-Fiza, Manish Msihra said the arrested accused were identified as Vijay, 32, son of SN Maheshwari, a resident of Professor Colony and Dheeraj, 21, son of Daulatram Golani, who resides in Sun City colony at airport road.Mishra further said, their arrest was made following a tip-off from informant that two youths were allegedly conducting betting on IPL matches from a rented house at Sun City colony following which the police raided the house at around 11:30pm and cordon them off.

Later both the arrested accused were booked under various sections of Gambling Act and were produced in the court of SDM from where they were released on bail and the sections under which duo were booked were bailable.
