Info panel imposes Rs 5000 fine on Joint Collector

BHOPAL : The Madhya Pradesh State Information Commission (SIC) has slammed a penalty of Rs 5000 on Joint Collector HS Bhadoria for violation of the Right to Information (RTI) Act.

Information Commissioner Atmadeep, pronouncing his judgment, ordered him to deposit the penalty amount in the Commission within seven days. Bhadoria’s reply to the show-cause notice issued to him was rejected by the Commission.

Commissioner Atmadeep, in his judgment, said that the then Public Information Officer and Joint Collector HS Bhadoria did not provide sought information to the appellant within the stipulated time period of 30 days.
