Indore: Chaos in bank; 2 injured as guard fires gun by mistake

Indore: Chaos prevailed in State Bank of India’s GPO Branch on Wednesday when a guard mistakenly fired from his gun during peak business hour in the morning. Two guards including the one who fired by mistake were injured in the incident.

According to Sanyogitaganj police station staff, the incident took place between 12.30 pm and 1 pm outside bank’s scab department when the guard was loading his gun. Shrinivas was loading his 12-bore gun after coming on duty when he accidentally fired from gun. The pellets of cartridge hit Shrinivas and another guard Ravi Mane who was standing near him, police said.

Police with the help of bank staff rushed both the guards to MY Hospital. Shrinivas’s condition is reported to be critical while Ravi has recovered. “We have registered a case under Section 338 of IPC against the guard and are investigating the matter,” Sanyogitaganj Police Station in-charge Subodh Singh said.
