Indore: Local unit of BJP wants outgoing Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan to take responsibility of campaign in rural areas of Indore as party candidate Shankar Lalwani is not a familiar face in villages. “Being an eight-time MP from Indore, Tai has a pull with each and every Indorean be it an urban or rural one. So the party wants her to lead campaign in rural areas of Indore,” a BJP functionary said. He claimed that Lalwani is famous in urban areas but not many rural people known him as he did not work in villages.
“If Tai would lead the campaign in rural areas the party will benefit,” he added. Tai is already going with Lalwani in rural areas. She went to rural pockets in Depalpur on Tuesday and Sanver on Wednesday. On Friday, Lalwani along with Madhu Verma and Jitu Jirati went to meet party workers in Rau.
