BHOPAL : The incessant rain continued to lash the state capital on Sunday evening following a system over Bay of Bengal which has led heavy downpour over Madhya Pradesh. Earlier, throughout the day, it was inclement sky over the city with hardly any rainfall but by the evening, it started to rain drenching the entire state capital. For the last couple of days, rain activities are happening all over the state.
Heavy rainfall would occur at isolated places over Bhopal, Seoni, Balaghat, Chhindwara, Jabalpur, Mandla, Dewas, Ujjain, Shajapur, Agar, Rajgarh, Vidisha, Raisen, Guna, Sagar, Dindori, Anuppur, Harda, and Betul districts in the next 24 hours. However, alert has been sounded for heavy rainfall at Ujjain, Betul, Rajgarh, Vidisha, Anuppur, Balaghat and Agar districts.
The heavy rainfall is likely to continue for at least another 24 hours, which will further aggravate the rain activities all over the state.
The low pressure area over Bay of Bengal that has been responsible for the showers is likely to prevail for the next couple of days over the region. The system which is lying over Bay of Bengal has made its impact and triggering rain activities in the entire state. Therefore, for the next couple of days, it is likely to rain.
Kurwai recorded 10cm rainfall in the last 24 hours while Beowara recorded 8cm. Similarly, Ganj Basoda, Rajgarh and Satna recorded 7cm rainfall while Pushparajgarh and Athner recorded 6cm of rain. Khajuraho, Umaria and Khandwa recorded 5cm rainfall while Ujjain, Betul and Ashok Nagar recorded 4cm of rains in the last 24 hours.
