BHOPAL: Newly elected congress MLAs have filed a complaint with the principal secretary (PS) of Vidhansabha, against a caller. The MLAs including Arif Masood and Sajjan Singh Verma were in for a rude shock after an unidentified called sought their details, posing as a Vidhan Sabha official.
He first asked their ATM details and Aadhar card numbers as well as bank accounts for linking, then asekd for passwords. However, a complaint was filed with senior officials as well as the complainants have decided to take the matter to cyber cell. The MLAs stated that they received a call in which the caller posed as Vidhan Sabha deputy secretary AK Shrivastava. He then sought details of their bank accounts, Aadhar card and ATM card. The caller had rung up their numbers after 4 in the evening on Friday which left them shocked initially.
They then coordinated among each other and then filed a complaint with the officials of Vidhan Sabha. They also provided the number 7602847828, used by the caller used. Arif Masood, said that he received the call in the evening and when the caller asked him about the details, he provided. However, when the caller started asking for the password, he grew suspicious and informed the PS of Vidhan Sabha.
Superentedent of police (SP) Cyber cell Rajesh Singh Bhadauriya said that no formal complaint has been filed by the MLAs. However, the cyber cell has information of the case and a Jharkhand based gang is involved in it. He said the gang is involved in similar crimes and once we receive a complaint, inquiry will be initiated against the accused.
