BHOPAL : The special task force ( STF) of MP police on Wednesday filed a supplementary chalan against inspector Ajay Pawar for his alleged role in sub- inspector recruitment scam.
Pawar helped his son Abhijit and six other candidates clear the written test for recruitment of subedar/ sub- inspector/ platoon commandant conducted in 2012 in collusion with MP Professional Examination Board officials.
He allegedly charged Rs 10 to 15 lakh from each candidate.
Pawar had links with middlemen Bharat Mishra and former chief system analyst of PEB, Nitin Mahindra. Pawar confessed handing over Rs 49 lakh to Nitin Mahindra for helping seven candidates clear the written test. The payments were made through Bharat Mishra, brother of an IPS officer Sonali Mishra.
The money was paid to Mahindra for selections of seven candidates – Abhijit Singh Pawar, Jitendra Singh Chandrawat, Jitendra Singh Raghuvanshi, Kamlendra Singh, Bhupendra Singh, Harshvardhan and Kunal Singh.
Pawar, in his memorandum, said, ” I was appointed as an inspector in 1995. In 2012, I was posted in PRTI, Bhopal.
My younger brother DSP Sanjay Singh Pawar lives in Chuna Bhatti. I used to visit him. I came to know that IG Sonali Mishra’s brother Bharat Mishra also lives there whom I befriended. During that day, my son Abhijit was preparing for SI examination and I came to know about his other friends who belong to Rajput samaj. During a discussion Mishra told me that he knew Vyapam officer Nitin Mahindra and Mahindra can help candidates for exchange of Rs 10 lakh. I collected Rs 65 lakh from the candidates and gave the amount to Mishra to hand it over to Mahindra.” Besides, Mishra, in his memorandum, said, ” I was given Rs 65 lakh and handed over Rs 49 lakh to Nitin Mahindra for selection of 7 candidates Abhijit Singh Pawar, Jitendra Singh Chandrawat, Jitendra Singh Raghuvanshi, Kamlendra Singh, Bhupendra Singh, Harshvardhan and Kunal Singh.
