Deceased had complained of police extorting money from him in suicide note
BHOPAL: The state Human Right Commission has sought a report from Inspector General of police of Gwalior range and SP of Shivpuri regarding the suicide of a teacher due to atrocities of the police.
The deceased assistant teacher Manoj Kumar Purohit had committed suicide on Diwali. The SHO of Pichore police station, and staff had threatened him that they will frame him in case gambling and drug trafficking he did not pay ‘facility fees’, to them.
He has written the suicide note in detail addressing the chief minister. He stated that the SHO Arvind Singh Bhadoria and two other sub-inspectors and constables has stopped a bus owned by his elder brother. They had demanded Rs 500 per day and told him that if he did not pay the amount he will be framed. The MPHRC has asked the IG Gwalior and SP Shivpuri to submit the suicide note and the statements of the arrested people before November 29.
