BHOPAL : Two incidents of house break-ins were reported from the locked houses of a veterinary doctor and a retired engineer from Jehangirabad and Ayodhya Nagar area.
In the first incident, cash and jewellery worth Rs 50,000 have been stolen by unidentified thieves from the locked house of a veterinary doctor located at Jada Colony in Jehangirabad, police said on Monday.
Police said that complainant Dr Deepak Singh (32), son of Chetram Singh, a resident of Jada Colony in Jehangirabad who was a doctor in veterinary hospital in his complaint stated that on December 3, he along with other family members went to Hoshangabad to attend relative’s funeral.
Meanwhile when he returned Bhopal today, he spotted that cash of Rs 15,000 and gold jewellery to the tune of Rs 50,000 were missing from the almirah in his house after which he approached Jehangirabad police station and lodged a complaint.
In another incident which was reported from Ayodhya Nagar area, burglars struck at the locked house of a retired engineer located at Old Minal area and decamped with cash and jewellery all to the tune of Rs 1 lakh.
Police said that complainant Lewis Peter (61), who resides at D-34, Phase-1 in Old Minal was a retired engineer and told police that on December 4, he went to Delhi to bring his wife. Their neighbour informed them over phone that locks of their
house were broken after which he reached Bhopal and discovered that unidentified thieves had sneaked into their house and made away with cash of Rs 15,000 along with a laptop, gold and silver jewellery all to the tune of Rs 1 lakh from the house.
