SHIVPURI: A Ganesh Chowk resident woman on Thursday accused a home guard jawan of tearing off her clothes on a downtown road. However, she later reached a compromise with the accused after the police intervention in the dispute.Complaining to Physical College police station TI against home guard jawan Ravi Sharma the woman said the accused used to blackmail her.

She said he was forcing her to make physical relations with him. On Thursday morning Sharma waylaid the woman in front of City Plaza on Physical Road while she was going to a Jain temple. He tried to drag her and as she tried to thwart his advances he tore off her clothes in full public view.

The woman said Sharma was threatening and trying to blackmail her for a long time.  She had also tried to commit suicide by consuming celphos a long time back. Sharma was charge of abetting the woman’s suicide. However, she withdrew her complaint after the jawan apologised.

After a few days he continued harassing the woman which escalated to ripping off the victim’s clothes on Thursday.
The high-pitched drama continued at the police station for nearly two hours but later ended in a compromise after intervention of police station in-charge.

TI LM Maurya said, “A woman had reached the police station to complain against home guard jawan Ravi Sharma but later she reached a compromise. No case has been registered.”Home guard jawan Ravi Sharma said, “I never had any contact with the woman and she is levelling baseless charges. It was her who later agreed to compromise.”
