BHOPAL : A Hindi play ‘Dohri Zindagi’ was staged on Monday- the second day of four-day 27th Iftekhar Smriti Natya Evam Samman Samaraoh ‘Yaadein’ at Bharat Bhawan. Based on a folk tale of Rajasthan, the play highlights the dual life of a person. Scripted by Vijaydan Detha, directed by Neha Singh, the play was presented by Play On Production, Mumbai. It is the saga of two friends who live in two different villages. To strength their friendship, they fix the marriage of their children who are not born yet. But unfortunately, girls take birth at their homes. But they tell lie to each other that son is born. And they do upbringing of their daughters like sons. The fact reveals during the marriage of their daughters at the end of the play. Neha Singh, Bhoomika Dubey and Krishnakant were in lead roles. Suggestive set, costumes, lights, and music were handled aptly and it helps to highlights the different moods of the play.
Besides the play, a felicitation ceremony was also held in which city’s noted theatre actors Prem Gupta, Ramchandra Singh and Dinesh Nair were felicitated with ‘Alakhnandan Kala Samman’, ‘Habib Tanveer Kala Sadhna Samman’ and ‘Shresth Abhinay Samman’ respectively. Director of MP School of Drama, Sanjay Upadhyay was present on the occasion along with other theatre buffs. A play ‘Mitra’, directed by Ashok Bulani would be staged on Sunday.
