Bhopal: “Dedication is necessary to improve the health conditions is state”, said health minister Rustam Singh while inaugurating the Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight and Population Stabilisation month at IEC bureau at JP Hospital on Monday.
“The target is to make zinc tablets available to one crore children as many children succumb to diarrhoea.
The rise in infant mortality rate can be controlled if we work with full dedication and by next year, we will definitely achieve this rate”, said Singh.
Under the IDFC program, zinc tablets and ORS packets will be distributed and through ASHA and USHA workers, awareness programs and workshops in different areas will be conducted to create awareness among parents on cleanliness habits and precautions to be taken during this season.
V Kiran Gopal, mission director, NHM said that due to increase in population, scarcity of resources have started arising in State.
“During the month-long campaign we will reward families who will follow family planning . It is important to make people understand the merits of a small family”. Divisional joint director, Kiran Shejwar, director, NHM, BN Chauhan, BS Ohri, deputy director, NHM, CMHO Dr Veena Sinha were also present at the inauguration.
