BHOPAL : While the BJP leaders have showered encomiums on Shivraj Singh Chauhan on his completing 10 years as CM on November 29, the Congress, expectedly, has nothing good to say about him. He is a “Son of the Soil” in true sense, says BJP. “He can be credited with no achievement”, counters the Congress.

Describing the CM’s ten-year tenure as ‘marvellous’, BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya said “Lord Krishna had lifted the Govardhan mountain with the blessings of his elders. Lord Rama had vanquished Ravana with the help of his team. The CM is motivated by both these personalities. He believes that government can be run only with the support of all.

The CM has vision, determination and creativeness and he works with transparency. It is because of this that he has become so popular. He got Madhya Pradesh freed from the tag of BIMARU state and turned into a role model for other states.”

Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said, “I have seen a simple man getting transformed into an unmatched personality in the last 10 years. Leading from the front, he has brought about improvement in all sectors – whether infrastructural or social. His work is really commendable. His achievements are tremendous”.

BJP State Organisational general secretary Arvind Menon said, “It is a matter of pride for all of us that Chauhan has completed ten years as CM. Ten years ago, Madhya Pradesh was enveloped in darkness, now it is swathed in bright light and the credit for this transformation goes solely to Chauhan. Under his leadership, the state has marched from depravity towards prosperity. His leadership abilities and his administrative acumen are unmatched.”

BJP national vice-president Prabhat Jha said, “Chauhan has s mastery over how to share the pain of the people. His dedication has paid him dividends. Despite occupying the top office for a decade, he does not have any airs.”

National vice-president Vinay Shahastrabude said, “Madhya Pradesh has registered agricultural growth rate of 24 per cent and this is Chauhan’s singular achievement. In the last decade, the state has been transformed beyond recognition.”

Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Arun Yadav said, “Ministers and officials minted money like never before in the 10-year tenure of Chauhan as CM. A large number of farmers committed suicide, law and order situation deteriorated rapidly, incidents of rape and kidnapping shot through the roof and inflation soared. The multi-crore Vypam scam is the biggest one in the country.”

AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh said, “I congratulate Shivraj Singh Chauhan on completing 10 years as CM but my 10 years’ tenure cannot be compared with Chauhan’s. His tenure will be remembered for Vaypam, mining and a host of other scams. Chauhan claims that there is 24 per cent agriculture growth which is a ridiculous claim. Power projects came to Madhya Pradesh because of the UPA government. Hundreds of MoUs were signed in global investors’ summits but none were executed. He is an absolute non-achiever”.

Senior Congress leader Rameshwar Nikhara said, “Nothing new has happened in the 10 years of Chauhan as CM.

There is rampant corruption and unbridled mining has damaged rivers and forests. Initially, sand was dug out from the shores but now it is being dug out from the middle of the rivers. This holds dangerous portends for the state’s environment”.

BJP to felicitate Chauhan

The Bharatiya Janata Party, State Unit, will felicitate chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan on Sunday at its State office, on completing ten years of his being chief minister of the state.

The party’s national vice-president Dr Vinay Sahastrabudhey, national vice-president Prabhat Jha, national organisation general secretary Ramlal, Union minister for mining and steel Narendra Singh Tomar, former CM Sunderlal Patwa, senior leader Kailash Narayan Sarang, MPs, MLAs and party workers would be present in the programme.

A month-long ‘Seva Parva’ of the party would also begin from Sunday with meetings at districts level. A monthly action plan would be made in these meetings. The workers and seniors working for social services would also be feted in the meetings. Works related to organising health camps, eye camps, blood donation, distribution of warm clothes to poor, hospitals, old-age homes, sweet distribution among orphanages would be done during ‘Seva Parva’. Mahila Morcha would also start ‘Swachhta Abhiyan Mission’ in all the districts.
