Takes up petitions of medical students thrown out of colleges

BHOPAL: The MP High Court deferred hearing on petitions seeking CBI probe into Vyapam scam on Wednesday. They will now be taken up on March 11. The court heard petitions of medical students, whose admissions were cancelled in wake of the involvement in admission fraud.

Double bench of Chief Justice Ajay Manikrao Khanwilkar and Justice KK Lahoti continued hearing on different petitions filed in the case on Wednesday. The court sources said hearing completed on medical students’ petitions who are seeking admissions in medical and interim relief on the ground that they were not given opportunity to put their side by Vyapam.

Counsel of the MP Professional Examination Board submitted in writing that the board would hear each case. But, students’ counsels requested the court for interim relief.The court will take up their case again on Thursday for judgment.The court also heard petitions filed by Abhay Chopra and ex- MLA Paras Saklecha for some minutes and sought the ground to handover the case to the CBI for the investigation.They were asked to submit reply till March 11 – the day of hearing on their petitions.
