BHOPAL :  Leader of Opposition Satyadev Katare put a question mark on STF probe underway in Vyapam scam, following arrest of two persons with confidential call records of Vyapam scam accused.

In a press conference, Katare said Vyapam scam probe is underway under supervision of High Court and the STF must explain whether it took HC permission to engage private persons in investigation, even as MP Police have its separate cyber cell to investigation IT related crimes.

“STF inspector in local court accepted that one of the two accused – Prashant Pandey and Sonu

Pawar – is his facebook friend. How they got secret call detail records is a serious issue and HC must take notice on it,” Katare said.

Katare said, this created apprehension that the STF was using the two youths to blackmail others and had provided documents to them. This also leads to doubt that this could be an effort to save big fish in the scam by destroying evidence.

The leader of opposition demanded that chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan should explain about his relations with Purshottam Totalani, an accused CBI is looking for and where Totalani was during the 15 days when Chauhan went to South Africa.

CM to file yet another defamation

On Katare’s statement made regarding Hawala racketeer Purshottam Totalani, Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan would file a defamation case against him. In a statement, public relations minister Rajendra Shukla said, the statement is baseless and false. Chauhan went to South Africa visit for promotion of the forthcoming Global Investors’ Summit. Katare made such statement only for publicity. This statement shows that the Congress had put aside State’s interests.
