BHOPAL : Jabalpur High Court’s decision to cancel appointments, which were not made in accordance with rules and procedures in the state, has created a sensation in the government’s echelons.
The High Court, has directed to cancel such appointments and also to take action on officers and employees involved in this act.
The order of the High Court would cover all previous and current bureaucrats who issued orders on the basis of instructions given on note-sheets by Chief Ministers. Those who were secretaries and on other posts during 10 years of tenure of former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh, are still in service. The order of the High Court would also apply on the appointments made during the tenures of former Chief Minister Arjun Singh, Motilal Vora, Sunderlal Patwa, Uma Bharati, Babulal Gaur and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan. The order would also trigger a spate of complaints in departments.
After High Court’s decision, preparations to gather details of the appointments made during the tenure of Digvijay Singh have started. Several senior officers in the state are worried as they fear that the orders issued by them at the behest of Singh may prove dear to them now.
