BHOPAL : The cops, who are always regarded trigger-happy, on Sunday swapped their guns for bats in a cricket match organised on the second days of ongoing IPS sports meet at Motilal Nehru Stadium. The team headed by DGP won by 8 wickets.

The police officials and their families enjoyed to the hilt during the entire event. Several sports activities were organised for the police officers, their wives and children. The prize distribution will be held at Kerwa dam, on Monday.

The atmosphere in the stadium was ecstatic, all sporting events were played with sportsmen sprit, and players participated in the event enjoying the games leaving all the protocols behind.

In the tug-of-war event, the team led by housing corporation president and DG, Rishi Kumar Shukla defeated the team lead by DGP Surendra Sinh.

Earlier in the cricket match, team of DG Rishi Kumar Shukla bated first and scored 83 runs. The team of DGP Surendra Singh won the match by 8 wickets. The running commentary was done by the DG, Lokaukta, Ajay Sharma along with IG Pankaj Shrivastava and ADG Mohammad Afzal.

The commentary was done in a comical way, the commentators made fun of the players and also pleased the audiences with their funny chit-chat. Events were also organised for women. In the Ball in Bucket event, Shaifali Shrivastava won the first position. The women also participated in a hurdle race, which was organised twice due to a large number of participants.

The three-legged race set for the couple was enjoyed by every one, the couples teased each others for holding their spouses publicly. The race was organised in three parts, as the participants were in large numbers.

In the first race, Chandra Shekhar Solanki and his wife won the race, Yogesh Choudhary won the second race and in the third race Lalit Shakywar won the race with his wife.

In the search your partner event, the game name slips were given separately to man and women. They had to match the slips, like Jodha-Akbar, Noorjahan- Jahangir and Bajirao- Mastani.

Children participated in spoon race, sack race and baton race. The organisers had to organise the events for thrice. In the spoon race, young participants Noya Absar and Shambhavi Shrivastava were given special prizes.

The Sack Race event was also held thrice as all the children wanted to participate in the even.

The second day programme concluded after the prize distribution ceremony for the children.
