Gupta too got complaints against Jain

Speculations of raid were rife for 2 months

BHOPAL: The Lokayukta raid on IPS officer Mayank Jain has sensationalised the state government. There were speculations about raid on Jain for the past two months. The Lokayukta office had been receiving complaints against Jain for long time. Complaints against Jain were also made to Umashankar Gupta, during his term as Home Minister. Gupta, acting on the complaints, had removed Jain from the post of DIG, Ujjain.

Gupta got complaint by Jain’s wife in which she had alleged harassment and confidential probe was conducted into the matter. Gupta, in conversation with Free Press, said that Jain was removed from field posting as there were serious complaints against him. Sources said some officials in Lokayukta had even tried to save Jain in probe against him but they could not succeed.
