BHOPAL: Legislative assembly will purchase a new SUV for leader of opposition Satyadev Katare, who returned his official vehicle as a mark protest for not providing him the facilities behoving his status of cabinet rank minister.

Assembly office sent a proposal to state finance department for purchasing of SUVs for assembly speaker Dr Seetasharan Sharma, leader of opposition Katare and deputy speaker Rajendra Singh.

” Official vehicle in possession of the speaker, the deputy speaker and the leader of opposition have crossed the limit of mileage and would be replaced after with new vehicle after the sanction,” said assembly sources.

Proposal was sent to purchase modern SUVs but Assembly speaker Sharma rejected it and sanctioned for Tata Safari quoting that the state’s financial condition does not allow to spend huge money on official vehicle.
