BHOPAL: The state government has issued detailed instructions to all collectors, commissioners and superintendents of police for effective check on incidents of acid attack. It would be mandatory for educational institutions, research laboratories, hospitals and public undertaking to maintain a record of acid bought, used and stored.

The victim of acid attack will be given treatment and compensation of Rs 3 lakh.The state government has authorised sub- divisional officers to take action against those who violate the directives under Poison Act 1919. A licensed seller of acid needs to fill in detailed information in the register and sign it. The state government has also given orders to all heads of departments and all chief medical and health officers to ensure compliance of Poison Act 1919 and Madhya Pradesh Poison Act, 1960, Poison ( Amended) 1981.
