BHOPAL : State government has decided to form a new action plan after taking the advice of experts to find the way for the disposal of toxic wastes of Union Carbide Factory within the country, after German-based firm withdrew its proposal.

Monitoring and advisory committee formed for disposal of toxic wastes, met at Mantralaya to decide the further course of action after the German based firm withdrew its proposal to dispose of chemical waste. Chaired by chief secretary R Parasuram, the committee was informed that there were 27 places where toxic waste could be incinerated. The government will take in confidence the state governments where there is the facility for disposal and if any hurdles come in the way, the Supreme Court will be informed about it. Secretary of union ministry for chemical and fertilisers, K Jose Cyriac said all security measures would be taken in the process of disposal.
