BHOPAL : The state government has given instructions to all educational officers and district project coordinators to get electricity arrangements in schools systematised and adopt safety measures. They have been asked to apprise the students of the precautions to be taken while using electronic equipment in schools. The officials have been asked to provide information on how accidents could be averted. The arrangements of earthing in electricity supply should be made on school campus at the time of installation of electricity connection. There should be no illegal connection in school and it should be ensured that electricity wires should not be left uncovered. While acquiring a new school building or before electrification, Public Works Department should be asked to check use of qualitative material with ISI mark on it. Electricity wires should not be left open at places where there is some metallic object or water. MCB should be installed and it should be used compulsorily. Electronic equipment, switch boards and switches should be installed away from reach of children and they should be used by authorised persons only. Indications of ‘Attention ‘ or ‘Danger’ should be placed at places where there are electricity wires, switch boards or electronic equipment and its information should be given to the students. During rain, main switch of electricity should be kept off, from safety point of view.
