House adjourned sine die amidst din over corruption , Narottam says ‘Jisne paisa khaya uske kidey padenge’.
BHOPAL : Legislative affairs minister Narottam Mishra, interacting with journalists here on Friday, said the state government was ready to issue a White Paper on Simhastha, if the opposition demands so. Earlier, Congress MLAs demanded a White Paper on the expenses incurred on the mega religious fair.
The concluding day of Monsoon session of the state Assembly witnessed din on the issue of corruption in Simhastha. Congress MLAs entered the Well of the House and raised slogans against chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and state government. Amidst uproar, Speaker Sitasharan Sharma completed the business listed in the agenda and adjourned the House sine die.
Earlier, MLA Mukesh Nayak and Narottam Mishra got locked in a bitter wordy duel over Simhastha. Nayak alleged that Rs 5500 crore of public money was wasted on the organisation of the event and the money was looted. Mishra claimed that attempts to malign the image of state were being made in the name of Simhastha. Mishra said ‘Jisne Simhastha ka paisa khaya uske kidey padenge aur jo simhastha ke naam par jhoot bolega usey bhi kidey padenge’.
The Congress, during the Zero Hour, demanded debate on an adjournment motion submitted by Ramniwas Rawat on Simhastha. Speaker rejected the plea but allowed some Congress MLAs to speak on this issue.
Mishra, registering his protest, said that if the Congress members are allowed to speak then the ruling party members should also be given the permission to reply. But the Speaker did not concede the demand. Congress MLAs alleged that the government was avoiding debate on Simhastha. Mishra said all documents related to Simhastha have been submitted and the Congress is creating ruckus for no reason.
