BHOPAL : The House on Thursday witnessed commotion on the issue of PSC-2012 paper leak. Congress MLA Ramnivas Rawat had raised the issue through a call attention motion.

He flayed the government for not cancelling the said examination despite STF report clearing saying that the papers had leaked.

Congress members staged a walkout when minister of state Lal Singh Arya said that the examination will not be cancelled.

Rawat, citing cancellation of Ayurveda examination 2014, said why PSC examination was not cancelled when the papers of both preliminary and main examinations had leaked.

Arya said the examination was not cancelled as the preliminary and main rounds of written examinations were already over and merely the interview process remained. Arya said interviews were stopped.

The candidates filed a petition in the High Court, which directed that interviews be conducted within three months.

Arya said an undertaking is being taken from all candidates that if they are found involved in irregularities, then their candidature would be cancelled. The interviews would conclude on July 30.

As many as 23 persons have been arrested in this case so far.

Rawat, citing a judgment of the Supreme Court on confidentiality and transparency in examinations, said if confidentiality of an examination is breached then it should be cancelled. Rawat alleged that Vyapam was made an industry by ministers and it should not be done with the PSC.

Rawat urged the state government to lodge an appeal in the Supreme Court to cancel the examination.  Rawat said the Supreme Court has recently directed to provide information to it about examinations conducted for Patwari to PSC levels.

MLA Mahendra Singh Kalukheda claimed that injustice was done to scores of students due to paper leak. Kalukheda said the government had failed to put up its view forcefully in the High Court. He said when STF had all information then it should have been put before the court.

SC has shown mirror to govt on Vyapam: Congress

BHOPAL : Congress MLA Govind Singh commented during the Question Hour in the House on Thursday that the Supreme Court (SC) had shown mirror to the government on the Vyapam scam. Singh quoted an SC bench as having said that Vyapam scam was a national scam and added that government should feel ashamed. Singh said that the chief minister should resign.

Legislative affairs minister Narottam Mishra said it was the government which had exposed the scam. MLA Ramnivas Rawat said the government should admit adjournment motion on the scam. Babulal Gaur said scam cannot be discussed in the House as it was sub judice.

General administration minister Lal Singh Arya said we would seek opinion of attorney general after we receive an official copy of the SC comments. Congress state president Arun Yadav alleged that it is clear now that the working of CBI is suspicious.
