BHOPAL: The state Congress announced launching of ‘Dhol ki Pol’ campaign to “expose the truth” of the government’s claims about Global Investors Meet at a press conference here on Thursday. The programme was to be launched from Indore on October 22. However, after the news of the death of Satyadev Katare, the party announced cancellation of the programme.

The PCC chief Arun Yadav informed in a press conference here on Thursday that the state government had, so far, organised four Global Investors Meets but was not providing details of the investments that the meets brought to the state.

He also alleged that the government had spent crores in organising the Meet. In the year 2007, the promised investment was Rs 1,20,893 crore but actually investment worth only Rs 4,744 crore was made.

Similarly, in the year 2010 Rs 2,37,876 crore was promised and an investment of Rs 8,004 crore was made. In 2012 investment proposals worth Rs 1,22,230 were made but the actual investment was only Rs 4,747 crore.

In the GIS of 2014, proposals of Rs 6,79,000 were submitted and the government has no idea how much investment has actually came.

He alleged that the state government was giving land to big industrialists at throwaway prices. They are mortgaging the land to obtain bank loans and even selling it off.
