BHOPAL : Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has assigned the responsibility of Ghodadongiri by-polls in Betul district to revenue minister Rampal Singh. Although Sartaj Singh is the minister in-charge of Betul but considering his health issues, the responsibility has not been given to him.
Chouhan, after his return from Indore on Wednesday, discussed the issue with BJP leaders and public representatives of Betul district. The party is mulling over deploying local party workers for campaigning and not to summon leaders from outside.
As per a survey report, Chouhan is considering giving ticket to former MLA Geeta Uike. To ensure that there is no opposition to Uike, he is holding discussions with the Betul leaders. The name of Uike as party candidate may be announced after the meeting of BJP state election committee on May 8.
Rampal Singh said he has toured Ghodadongiri and he would do whatever work the party organisation assigns to him. Chouhan would campaign in the constituency for five days.
