BHOPAL: The ongoing protest of doctors and staff members of Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre has received the support of Bhopal Gas Pidit Sangharsh Sahyog Samiti, Centre for Indian Trade Union, Central employee association and Insurance union in their dissent against BMHRC and ICMR for recruitment rules and past service counting.
Sadhna Karnik Pradhan, Bhopal Gas Pidit Sangharsh Sahyog Samiti, said that central government has issued orders for Dynamic Assured Career Program in 2008, where in spite of vacant posts doctors will be promoted within prescribed time. For the three years, after ICMR undertook BMHRC, no promotion has been given. She also said that the service rule has been cleared by the Department of personnel and training of Central Government on 15 February but DHR seems to have put the file on back burner.
Presently, BMHRC has 3 professors, 25 assistant professors, 2 associates, 30 medical officers and 7 senior medical officers. This number is, however, not sufficient for conducting PG courses at the hospital, she added.
