Gang dups woman of Rs 98,000 in `lottery’

Khargone : Another forgery case has been brought to notice. As per the received information, a gang from Bihar, the gang duped a girl, in the name of lottery. The victim approached the police and filed a case against the gang. Police started with the investigation as per the mobile numbers and account details given by the victim. The police was able to arrest the gang members after four months from the mishap.

According to the information given by the superintendent, NP Warkade, victim Kusum, who is a resident of Ganesh Marg, Barwaha, filed a complaint on March 14. In her complaint, she informed that unidentified people called from numbers 00923314102469 and 9200027110077 and informed that she had won a lottery worth Rs 25 lakh. The dupers asked Kusum to deposit 75,000 rupees in accounts 30789912378 and 32737843527. They also asked Kusum that if she wants to save the tax, she must deposit 98,000. The victim deposited the money in the mentioned accounts. When she asked for her prize money, the dupers demanded for more money. Kusum then approached the police.

SP Warkade further informed that a team was sent to Bihar after tracing the calls and the accounts. After studying the CCTV footages of the ATMs and the bank, it was brought to notice that the accounts belonged to Rishidev Paswan from Bhagalpur and Munna Prasad. CCTV footage of the ATM from where the money was withdrawn was also examined. The police then arrested both the dupers.
