Furious Yadav dissolves Bhopal city, rural executives; sacks spokesmen

BHOPAL : Furious over the poor poll results and jumbo-size executive, PCC president Arun Yadav, on Thursday, dissolved the executives of both Bhopal city and rural Congress Committee along with block units and removed all spokesmen of PCC.Yadav had called a meeting of Bhopal DCCs as part of its series of interaction with local leaders on Thursday. Senior Congress leader Zahir Ahmad pointed out the jumbo size of Bhopal DCC saying that many senior leaders got inducted their supporters in DCC putting pressure. During elections, they worked in leaders’ constituencies and not in Bhopal city.

Around 1000 Congress workers were adjusted in Bhopal DCC. After taking view of DCC president PC Sharma and rural unit president Avinash Bhargava, Yadav dissolved the executives. He said city presidents will continue to occupy their posts. The leaders objected to the absence of BMC corporators in party related programme.

Dissatisfied with performance of all spokesmen, PCC president removed all 21 spokesmen.  Only four-five persons will be appointed now spokesmen. Yadav appointed Prof Dharmendra Vajpayee as state president of IT cell.

‘Look for people who can donate Rs 1000 per month’

Battling with financial crisis after the poll, the PCC will start a campaign to identify donors. Yadav, on Thursday, asked local leaders to find out donors who can provide Rs 1000 per month for the party. Arif Masood, Sunil Sood and PC Sharma were asked to find out 50 such donors each so that the party could manage routine expenditures.

Aqueel absents himself from meeting

Not happy with LS poll ticket to Sharma, Congress MLA from Bhopal (north) Arif Aqueel did not turn up for the meeting. His known rival Masood raised the issue of the MLA’s absence alleging that such leaders are BJP’s agent in the party. He also pointed out expulsion of Sanjeev Saxena and Asif Jaki and said, Jaki moved to higher court against the verdict.
