Major irregularities in the entire process come to light
BHOPAL: The private medical colleges have given admissions to more students than the seats allocated to them.
There are at least 33 such cases. The matter is being looked into by the Directorate of Medical Educations.
The irregularity has come in light after the 10th day of counseling. The admission process had ended on October 7, according to the Supreme Court instructions.
On October 7, after 5 pm the admission process was conducted offline.
In the process major irregularities were committed including manipulations in SC/ST quota seats, NRI seats and admissions of the non state domicile students.
The Supreme Court has instructed to submit the status report of the admission on October 17, but the DME have failed to submit the report, the court has instructed to submit the report on October 25.
The DME Dr GS Patel informed that the four private colleges have given 34 excess admissions in their colleges.
The Amtalas Medical College 22, Index Medical college three, RD Gardi Medical college one and in People’s Medical College seven excess admissions have been given.
The authorities concerned have been called to DME office to present all the papers. The final outcome will be known by Wednesday.
