BHOPAL : At least four officers of the state government are devoting all their energies and time for the success of the upcoming Global Investors’ Summit (GIS). Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan is attaching great importance to the event and wants that it should be hassle-free and a big hit.

Besides Chief Secretary Antony De Sa, Principal Secretary, Industries, Mohd. Suleman, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister SK Mishra and TRIFAC Managing Director DP Ahuja are working round-the-clock for the success of GIS.

De Sa, who has completed one year as Chief Secretary, is taking everything related to GIS seriously. De Sa, who has inspected the function venue at Indore four times, is making daily review of the preparations. For the promotion of GIS, he also accompanied Chauhan on his visits to various places including Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore. De Sa is constantly monitoring the arrangements after discussions with the industrialists of these cities. De Sa is not only interacting with industrialists but he is also meeting delegates of various countries. He is assuring the investors that he would personally look into the problems being faced by them and solve them. The positive approach of De Sa is sending the right signals to the investors. De Sa is also seeking information on advertisements and hoardings, besides on accommodation of guests and other facilities from the officials.

Mohd. Suleman, who took charge as Principal Secretary, Industries eight months back, has a key role to play in GIS. He accompanied Chauhan in latter’s tour to South Africa and Dubai. He also toured across the country in connection with the Summit. Suleman is in touch with almost every industrialist who is planning to attend the Summit. It was he who showed the courage of proposing that the government should do away with the system of signing MoUs. Suleman persuaded the government to pay attention towards actual investment instead. He also played a significant role in tweaking the Industrial and Labour policies in a way that they would benefit both the investors and the workers. Suleman is working without a break for the last one-and-a-half months for the success of the GIS. His hard work may add another feather to his cap. Earlier, he had won praise for excellent work in road construction and power sectors in the state.

SK Mishra, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, who is known for his sound management skills, is also quite active. Mishra is shouldering the responsibility of coordination with industries department and publicity, being Commissioner of Public Relations also.

Mukesh Ambani, Anil Ambani, Venugopal Dhoot and Shashi Ruia, along with other renowned industrialists, are all in touch with Mishra. He is personally looking after the arrangements for the stay and meals of these top industrialists. Mishra has the responsibility of getting the issues of various departments with the leading industrial groups settled. Being Principal Secretary to the CM. Mishra is also playing a key role in getting these industrialists communicate with Chauhan for solution of their problems.

Mishra has drawn up an effective policy of country-wide publicity of GIS, which has made the Summit a centre of discussion amongst all industrialists of the country. Mishra, prior to the Summit, had held discussions with the industrialists and got their projects finalised so that more investment may come to the state in the summit.

DP Ahuja is also burning the midnight oil to ensure that GIS is a smashing success. Ahuja was made managing director of MP State Industrial Development Corporation and TRIFAC just one-and-a-half months back.

Ahuja is working dedicatedly and he is working even on holidays. During GIS-2012, Ahuja was posted at Indore in Western Region Electricity Distribution Company.

Ahuja is taking full advantage of the experience gained from the previous GIS. His sound rapport with Suleman has ensured that the arrangements for the Summit are perfect and that nothing is lacking.
