BHOPAL : An audio recording of Forest Minister Gaurishankar Shejwar, who is known for courting controversies, has come to the fore in which the Minister is heard threatening a journalist.
Shejwar, in the recording asks the journalist his address. The journalist in the recording had asked Shejwar a question. Shejwar accused the journalist of blackmailing him and threatens him that he would report the matter to the police. Shejwar, in the audio, is heard using rough language.
The journalist had asked Shejwar to provide him information about no action being taken against an officer for felling trees. Sources said the officer about whom the information was sought by the journalist, is a relative of the Minister which led the latter to lose temper.
Shejwar in the recent past landed in a controversy when his wife did not get a room in a guest house at Hoshangabad and he allegedly issued threat of getting the rest house shut down. When this matter was highlighted, Shejwar had expressed his annoyance. Shejwar in the past too had lost his cool when he was asked questions by media about Forest Department.
In this matter, several efforts were made to know the version of Shejwar but he did not pick up his mobile phone.
