Jabir Hussain, owner of Hakeem Hotel, talking to Free Press, said that the fire had erupted in the kitchen of the hotel due to short circuit.
Soon the coal kept in the kitchen for tandoor caught fire and the hotel was engulfed in flames which raged vigorously. The deep freezer, oven, refrigerator and other electrical appliances kept in the kitchen were gutted. The hotel staff immediately informed the fire station and within minutes two fire extinguishers reached the spot and controlled the blazing flames.
