Announces ex-gratia Rs 50k for seriously injured
BHOPAL: CM Shivraj Singh along with his wife visited Kamla Nehru Hospital here on Sunday to meet the family from Vidisha which suffered the wrath of fire during a wedding ceremony in the family on Saturday.
At least 25 people were injured in the fire.
The CM announced an ex-gratia of Rs 50,000 each for the seriously injured and Rs 25,000 for those with mild burns. He also announced that the expenses of the marriage would be borne by the administration and ordered the Vidisha collector to look after the preparations of the marriage.
The fire broke out on Saturday evening in the area where food was being cooked.
A gas cylinder caught fire and it spread rapidly, injuring at least 25, including 10 children. They were rushed to the district hospital, from where they were referred to Bhopal. Chouhan talked to the family members of the injured, assuring them proper treatment and full help from the government. He directed the doctors to take good care of the patients.
