BHOPAL : The Special Task Force of Madhya Pradesh police may have filed first information report ( FIR) in Transport Constable Recruitment Test- 2012 but because of pressure from the government, it is fervently trying to save the guilty.
The FIR has been filed against 34 Transport Constables but not against Vyapam officials which was done in all other scams.
Two days have passed since the filing of the FIR but STF is not ready to speak on this issue. A case has been filed against 34 candidates for giving fake documents so that the investigations could be kept separate from the probe underway in other examinations of Vyapam.
Sources said attempts were made to destroy the Excel Sheet pertaining to Transport Constable scam from the STF office.
Sources also said that efforts are being made to keep main accused of Vyapam scam namely Pankaj Trivedi and Nitin Mahindra away from Transport Constable scam. Mahindra had kept record of recommendations made by some high profile persons in Transport Constables recruitment in his computers, added sources. STF suspects that Mahindra may disclose those names in court and that is why he has not been made an accused.
Transport Commissioner Sanjay Chauhdary said Transport Department had assigned full authority to Vyapam to conduct this examination. He said it was Vyapam’s responsibility to scrutinise documents and only Vyapam officials are responsible for the irregularities committed. Chaudhary said next action would be taken after getting report from STF. Although Chaudhary could not reply why the government has given false statement related to the said examination after allegations leveled by Congress spokesman KK Mishra.
Sources said attempts are going on to save a former minister and an IPS officer in this matter.
Two accused in Transport Constable scam are already accused in Sub- Inspector Recruitment scam.
Despite of this fact, FIR in Transport Constable scam was lodged late. Surprisingly, the names of the accused have not been revealed by the STF, something the agency has been doing vis- à- vis every other case registered by it.
