Finger prints of deceased not found on revolver

BHOPAL : The police could make no headway in resolving the mystery of the death of Rahul alias Surya Pratap Singh Rajput on Tuesday. The cops intend to analyse his mobile phone details to get clues.

SP Anshuman Singh said that two gunshots were fired and gunpowder was found on the hand and shoulder of the deceased. Although, the police have not received the FSL reports but in the preliminary investigations nothing suspicious was found. It is yet not clear that it was a suicide but no evidence was found which could prove it a homicide. He said that the police have recovered his mobile phones and the call details and other things will be analysed soon.

Investigation Officer OP Choubey said that in the preliminary investigations the finger prints of the deceased were not found on the revolver. He said that the bullets that were fired and the gun would be sent to Forensic Laboratory in Sagar for further investigations. The statements of the family members are yet to be recorded and further investigations would begin once the call details are analysed. He said that the statements of the neighbours would also be taken. Police had found two mobile phones near the body but both the phones were locked. Only the statements of his uncle were registered till Tuesday.

Rahul was the grandson of Congress leader and former MLA Govind Singh Rajput and had come to the city from Sagar on Sunday night to attend engineering college counseling in Indore. He died on Monday afternoon due to an injury caused by gunshot in the head. The gunshots were fired from the licensed revolver of his uncle Surat Singh, with whom he had came to the city.

While the gunshots were fired his uncle was bathing in the other room and driver was preparing food. Both rushed to the crime scene after hearing the sound of gunshot and found Rahul in pool of blood.
