BHOPAL : The Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) seized 30 quintals of Mawa and Paneer worth Rs 5.5 lakh from Old Sabbji Mandi under Hanumanganj police station on Sunday.
The consignment had reached Bhopal from Gwalior. Police have seized the truck, bearing registration number MP-07-GA-5023. FDA team collected five samples of suspected spurious Mawa.
A FDA team had spotted the truck. The entire stock was seized and the samples were sent for testing. The results would come after 10-15 days. “The Mawa appeared to be adulterated but without the test reports, we cannot say anything with certainty,” said inspector BS Dhakad, adding, “Last week, the FDA had seized a consignment worth Rs 7 lakh from the same place.”
