BHOPAL: Economic Offence Wing (EOW) submitted supplementary charge-sheet against Dr Pratima Singh, assistant professor, Sarojini Naidu College on Thursday in a special court for committing financial irregularities. Dr Singh, despite being a class-II gazetted officer, ran two NGOs namely Shiv Kalyan Evam Shikshan Samiti and Vishwas Kalyan Samiti. She received fund from the government for de-addiction programme and helping the handicapped but the same was used to benefit her family members. She hatched a criminal conspiracy in connivance with then joint directors of social justice department and received a fund of Rs 50 lakh under various schemes from the government and caused loss to the latter. A case was registered in this connection against accused Dr Singh, N Avalekar, retired joint director, social justice department, Bhopal, Nasim Khan, retired joint director, social justice, Bhopal, Mrinalini Awasthi, retired joint director, social justice, Bhopal, Sushila Devi, secretary, Shiv Kalyan evam Shikshan Samiti, Jai Singh, treasurer, Shiv Kalyan evam Shikshan Samiti, Sachin Saxena, chartered accountant and LN Bhawsar on June 30, 2010. The charge-sheet against other accused was submitted in the court. The charge-sheet against Dr Singh has been submitted after receiving permission to prosecute her from the government.
