BHOPAL : Ekta Parishad founder Rajgopal PV, addressing farmers at Neelam Park, said, “The state government is supporting industrialists instead of farmers. When we met Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and asked him to first rehabilitate of all oustees then introduce new scheme, the CM said a Task Force will be constituted to look into land related problems and a Land Reform Commission will be formed. We are on hunger strike to know that how serious government is for implementation of the announcements.”
He said, “Lakhs of farmers are facing the brunt of lethargic attitude of the government regarding allotment of land to the farmers who are farming on forest land for the generations but still they are not owners of the land.”
Rajgopal with four other workers has started a four-day hunger strike from Sunday at Neelam Park in protest against non-allotment of patta to landless farmers. He garlanded statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Gandhi Bhavan and led a rally of farmers from Gandhi Bhavan to Neelam Park.
