Bhopal: Police recovered eight swords, baseball bats and sticks from an NSUI leader’s luxury car on Sunday. Two groups of outh Congress workers clashed over bogus voting and beat up one another with lathis outside the PCC office. The situation was brought under control by the police who resorted to lathi- charge on the C workers who fled.
Following the clash the police conducted a search of the vehicles and recovered the swords from the rear side of the car owned by NSUI state vice- president Harshit Guru. The vehicle was also seized. Eight swords recovered returning officer ( PRO) BM Sandip announced re- polling in six assembly constituencies across the state, following complaints of sabotaging and violence at different booths.
In Hoshangabad, polling was extended for a day following floods. Re- polling in three assembly seats of Gwalior will be held on Monday. The other seats, where re- polling will be held, are Badnavar of Dhar and Khajuraho. Sandip said counting of state- level elections will be held at Vrindavan Garden on Hoshangabad Road on August 27.
