Early relief from heat wave unlikely: Weatherman

BHOPAL: Severe heat wave persisted in the State on Monday.  Heat wave continued to lash entire state except Indore division.  Weatherman, in the warning said that severe heat wave condition will prevail at many places over the state in the next 24 hours. Nowgaon, Damoh and Datia recorded 48°C which was maximum in the state.

In Bhopal, despite marginal fall in the temperature, there was no respite from extreme heat as heat wave continued to lash the city.  Heat wave has paralysed the normal life in the city as business activities came to stand still through out the day. People venture out in the evening for purchasing. After office time, prominent roads, rotaries wear deserted look.

People prefer to avoid venturing out in day time as they do not want to take risk of sun stroke, dehydration and exposure. Bhopal recorded a maximum temperature of 44.2°C which was 5°C above normal while it recorded a minimum temperature of 31°C which was 5°C above normal. On Sunday, it was 44.3°C and night temperature was 31°C.  therefore,  it shows that there was nominal decrease in day temperature. But still Bhopal is in grip of intense heat wave.

 Hot wind which blows in after noon, make the condition worst.  According to Meteorological department, moderate to severe heat wave condition prevailed over the state.  An upper air circulation lies over North -East Madhya Pradesh.  Severe heat wave condition will prevail at many places over the state in the next 24 hours.
