BHOPAL : The Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee, on Tuesday, organised a felicitation programme at its state office, in which MP Kantilal Bhuria, along with chairpersons and corporators, who were elected in the recently-held urban civic polls, were felicitated.

Senior Congress leader Mahesh Joshi, addressing the programme urged AICC General Secretary in-charge Mohan Prakash to give the State President a ‘freehand’ in running the affairs of the party and in constituting his team.

Emphasising on discipline, he said factionalism was always there in the party and it would remain but the backstabbers should not be forgiven. He said earlier there were factions in the party but now they have turned into gangs. No one has the right to remain on any post forever and the party should be run by new, honest and energetic people. He said one should clean one’s heart and mind before taking on the rival party.

AICC in-charge General Secretary Mohan Prakash said we need to work in keeping with the changing times. He urged the party men to expose the reality of the ‘fascist organisation’.

Prakash alleged that at a time when the value of the Rupee is falling, Prime Minister Modi is talking of development. He said ‘Tuar Daal was Rs.55 per kg during UPA regime but now it costs Rs. 200 per kg. He said Modi was making stopovers in Pakistan and terrorists were striking in India. He alleged that the contradictory statements by Home Minister and Defence Minister during the attack had exposed the Central government.

State Congress President Arun Yadav said the victory of the party is the victory of unity of its leaders and the bitter struggle of the party workers. He said if we remain united then we would fare well against BJP in the coming time. Yadav said we would follow the strategy followed in Ratlam-Jhabua by-polls to win Maihar Assembly by-polls.
