Civic body unconcerned, say local residents
BHOPAL: Scattered dumped garbage all over the road exposes the lacuna on the part of Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC). Proper sanitation should be top of the agenda of civic body.
Malivya Nagar is one of the residential-cum-commercial areas of the state capital. So BMC should be more cautious about sanitation. Civic body should concentrate on proper sanitation.
On main road, there are commercial complexes including Airtel office and on the back side there are independent houses. Just adjacent to it, there is MLA Rest House. And if BMC can not ensure regular sanitation, it is big failure on its part.
Local corporator is supposed to be active in this matter. He is supposed to make call to BMC call centre for garbage collection van in time, if it is delayed. But unfortunately, corporator is looking least bother about it.
Shubham Shrivastava, BE student, said, “BMC should ensure timely removal of garbage. But unfortunately, it is not being done. Consequently, stray animals scatter the dumped garbage all over the road. Even posh colonies like Malviya Nagar, scene is not different from other private colonies.”
Lokesh Singh, MCU student, said, “It is lacuna on the part of civic body which does not remove dumped garbage in time and regularly. Door -to- door garbage collection was introduced in the state capital but for the last four days, it is not coming to collect the garbage due to festival season.”
Paras Khedkar, school student, said, “BMC should daily send the garbage collection van in the residential colonies. Otherwise, dumped garbage starts emitting foul smell. But unfortunately, it is happening in the city. Many times, we have to make call to local corporator for it. But he hardly take interest in raising public related issues.”
