BHOPAL: A sozzled drunkard snatched an amount of Rs 2,000 from the owner of a make-shift bar (Ahata) attached to a liquor shop located at Semran Kalan under Ashoka Garden police station late on Thursday night.

Meanwhile following the complaint of victim who is also a district-level BJP leader, the police have registered a case of extortion instead of loot and launched a manhunt to nab the accused.  TI Ashoka Garden, Rupesh Dubey said the complainant Tulsiram, 42, son of Nandram Jhinjotiya, a resident of Khajuri Kalan owns an ‘Ahata’.

Dubey further said the incident took place at around 11pm on Thursday while the accused namely Chotte Yadav under the influence came to the liquor shop and demanded money for purchasing liquor for which Tulsiram refused following which a dispute took place among them therefore a case of extortion was registered by the police.

On the other hand, the complainant Tulsiram said, on the night of incident while he was making payment to the workers, the accused came there in inebriated state and snatched cash amount of Rs 2,000 from his hand and later fled from the spot.
