BHOPAL : Suspended IAS officer Shashi Karnawat, interacting with journalists after her meeting with the Finance Minister Jayant Mallaiya here on Thursday, said that if justice is not done to her, she would take a ‘Jalsamadhi’ on the day of cabinet meeting in Hanumantia on February 2.
Mallaiya had summoned IAS officers Ramesh Thete and Karnawat for a meeting. In the meeting, Thete asked Mallaiya to raise the sustenance allowance being paid to Karnawat from 50 to 75 per cent of the last-drawn salary.
Mallaiya spoke to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan on phone and urged the latter to consider raising the allowance. Mallaiya assured the duo that orders in this regard would be released on Thursday itself. Mallaiya said deliberations with both IAS officers were on and a solution would be thrashed out soon.
On the other hand, Thete said the meeting with Mallaiya was positive. He said he is ready to wait in his case filed against the Lokayukta but justice should be done instantly in Karnawat’s case. Meanwhile, Karnawat maintains that she wants complete justice.
Later in the day, Thete met the Chief Secretary Anthony de Sa.
