District Panchayat president and vice-president to be elected today

Umaria : Elections for the post of President and Vice-president of the District Panchayat will be organised in accordance with the instructions received from the State Election Commission.

The process of election will start exactly at 11am in presence of district election officer and Collector KG Tiwari and Deputy District Election Officer and Upper Collector Nagendra Mishra. All the arrangements with regards to elections are over. Entry of anyone, except administrators connected with the elections and District Panchayat Members will be prohibited at the election venue. Adequate security will provided at the venue.

President’s election at 11am

The election process for the president of District Panchayat will take place at 11am in the morning. The nominations will be filed between 11am to 11.30am, and the candidates can take their names between 11.40am to 11.50am. In case a single contestant contests for the election—then he will declared as elected between 11.50am to 12 noon. In case more than one candidate contests for elections, then their names will be announced and voting slips will be made by 12 noon. Secret ballot polls will commence from 12noon to 12.15pm.

Vice president to be elected at 2pm

The elections for the post of vice-president will take place at 2pm in the afternoon. While the nomination letters will be available from 1pm to 1.30pm, the inspection process will commence between 1.30 to 1.40pm. The option of taking the names back will be open till 1.50pm. In case more than one candidate contests for the post—the election process will be initiated between 1.50pm to 2pm, which will consist of making ballot papers and ballot boxes. The process of secret ballot will commence from 2.15pm to 2.30pm and the results will be declared from 2.30pm to 2.45pm.
