BHOPAL : The lawyers of District and Sessions court may boycott the ‘ Lok Adalat’ to be held in December as a mark of protest over a JMFC making a complaint against an advocate, who had approached him for compromise in a case. The Lok Adalats are held with the objective of settling cases through compromise to reduce pendency in the court.

Practicing lawyers led by Priyanath Pathak, in letter to District Bar Association, has raised the issue of advocate Tulsi Ram Patel who had approached the court of Manoj Tiwari for the compromise in a case as a complainant but Judge Tiwari is trying to discourage the practice of compromise. Tiwari treated the statement of Tulsi Ram, who appeared as a complainant, as statement of an advocate and sent a letter to State Bar Council without intimating District Bar Association.

District Bar Association president Advocate TP Vishwarkama said, ” Advocate Tulsi Ram Patel has not approached Bar Association so far. Let Tulsi Ram approach first. Then the executive body of Bar Association will decide what to do.

We will call a meeting of executive body. Even I cannot take any decision. So in that case, without meeting of executive body, we cannot decide the next course of action from advocate side”.
