BHOPAL : AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh virtually forced the STF to lodge an FIR in transport constables’ recruitment test. The STF had lodged FIR against some candidates, who got selected through the racket of Vyapam officials and high profile persons on October 3 but did not disclose it because of instructions from state government.
The government, it seems, did not want the news to go public before the Global Investors Summit.
The former chief minister submitted a list of candidates and their suspicious domicile to the STF ADG Sudhir Sahi and requested to file FIR against the accused and racketeers, said high placed sources.
Singh had given domicile certificates of some candidates. ” There was disparity between actual profile of candidates and what they submitted for the recruitment test,” said sources.
Digvijay Singh, who has filed a petition in Vyapam scam in High Court told STF officials to file FIR or else he would submit the records in High Court. Only after this pressure, the STF filed FIR on October 3 and sent the officer who registered FIR on leave.
The investigation agency was to maintain mum on the development and disclosed it only after GIS. A senior IAS officer had issued instructions in this regard, said sources.
